Welcoming nearly 30 students, Pulling Out The Stops 2019 was another fantastic course for OfO. The students ranged from 10-16 in age and had the opportunity to play on local organs in Oundle and the surrounding villlages, taught by esteemed professional organ musicians. Many were new to the course and playing the organ for the first time, thrilled us with their ability to take to the instrument and play so beautifully. Others were coming back to learn more and equally wowed us with their aptitude for developing technique and confidence, accentuated in the end of course concert at Oundle School Chapel.
We also had a wonderful trip to Cambridge and visited the organs in Trinity Hall, Trinity College and St Catherines, rounding the day off with a marvellous recital at King's College.
Our students stayed at New House in Oundle, one of the boarding houses for the school, they assured us it was very comfortable and a sociable, relaxing place after a busy day learning. The meals were delicious too and kept the students fortified for their busy schedule! We very much look forward to POTS 2020.
